On August 28th, 2023, the school joyously celebrated the Feast of St. Augustine of Hippo. The highlight of the day was a solemn Holy Eucharistic Celebration that brought together the entire school staff.

St. Augustine’s Day School Barrackpore hosted a grand spectacle of young football talent with the “Augusto Foot Fest 2023” Junior Inter School Football Knockout Tournament. The Chief Guest was Steven Leon J Herbots, the Head Coach of United SC.

Our school hosted the Frank Anthony All India Inter School Debate Competition for Category I Stage II. 14 pan India schools participated in the prestigious competition.

Independence Day celebrations at school was remarkable as the school felicitated ten Police personnel from different zones of the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, for their concerted efforts and dedicated service to the society. The event concluded with the address of our Chief Guest and CEO sir.

On the occassion of International Youth Day, Commerce Club and Nature Club organized a collaborative programme in celebration, where the students engaged in highlighting about the theme for this year, that is “Green Skills for Youth – towards a Sustainable World”.

The school campus shone with pride and enthusiasm as it hosted the much-anticipated ‘Sunbeams Investiture Ceremony’ on August 11, 2023. The event marked a significant milestone in the school’s calendar, as it celebrated the infusion of leadership and excellence into the student body.

Under the ABC Sports Lab program,International Chess Day 2023 was celebrated, with an exciting Inter House Chess competition organised by the Sports Department. Our Principal, Ms Shweta Ray, declared the Check Mate Challenge ‘Open’ and also congratulated the winners in the Prize distribution ceremony of the event.

Toppers’ Felicitation Program for ICSE & ISC 2023 was held on 17th June, acknowledging the hard work and academic achievement of our Toppers & One Pointers in the board exams.

LitBuzz, the literary club of the school, in collaboration with the Quiz and the Drama club, staged an interesting programme commemorating the birthday of William Shakespeare, called “An Afternoon with Shakespeare “.

Acknowledging the hardwork of our champions in academics, the Pre Primary and Primary section of St. Augustine’s Day School, Barrackpore appreciated the rising stars at Rabindra Bhavan, Khardah. The students were full of excitement and joy after receiving their prizes.

Classes IV & V Witness the exciting online Pet Show and celebrate the National Pet Day. Other students also celebrated the day to create an awareness of the well being of our pets and how important they are in our lives.

ISC 2023 Batch was given a farewell by Class XI Students and Teachers.

Interschool Model United Nations Conference was a huge success with student delegates debating on international issues.

Women’s Day was celebrated in the school premises with a beautiful cultural programme put up by all the male teachers of the school.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday, through which we attain redemption.

21st February is observed as “International Mother Language day”. Every year this day is celebrated to express our love for our mother tongue.This year also our children of Pre-primary section celebrated the day through a cultural program.

Mr A K Barman, senior P.Ed teacher retired after 17 years of dedicated service to the school. We thank him for his contribution.

The day long award giving ceremonies in three slots witnessed around 400 students receiving certificates and mementos for their outstanding performances in co-scholastic activities.

Students celebrated the 126th birth anniversary of the iconic leader of the National Movement, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. They engaged in inspirational speeches and sharing of interesting unknown facts on the leader.

Vaccination Camp held for all students upto 15years of age. happy to receive a very good response from parents.

Students were given new session kits by Principal Ma’am and Headmistress for Primary and Senior sections. The program ended with a quiz contest.

Our esteemed Chief Guest, Mr Sanjoy Sen and Guest of Honour, Mr Syed Rahim Nabi were impressed at the sportsman spirit which students displayed on the field. The Interschool event- ‘Goodwill Relay for Boys and Girls’ had eight participating schools. Winners received medals, trophies and certificates for their winning effort.

Students were given Report Cards. We also had the Annual Prize Distribution where children were awarded trophies for securing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions for their excellent performance in academics (for the session 2022-23) concerning the two disciplines basic English and Mathematics.

Interhouse Football Competition for Class 9 to 12 Boys was an exciting match on the Metal and Steel Factory ground, Ichapore. Students enjoyed the energy on the field as the four houses competed to be the best!

Public Speaking Competition for Middle School students was an interesting event where our budding orators received warm applause from the jury, parents and teachers alike. We thank Ms Sanchita Mukherjee, Mr Jayanta Ghoshal and Mr Nathan Gasper Chowdhury for providing their valuable judgement.

Pre Christmas celebration was a joyous three day long event in school.. Primary school students sang, danced and presented the birth of Jesus Christ in the form of nativity. Middle and Senior students had reading from the Bible followed by choir singing, drama and dance performances.

The programme by students of Classes IV-XII was an exquisite display of their talent in music, dance, drama, recitals and much more. Mr Joy Goswami, the eminent Bengali poet appreciated and acknowledged the performances on stage and congratulated the students.

The talented students of Classes I, II and III brought Razzmatazz to the audience . They enthusiastically and joyfully took us back to our childhood days where we revisited Simba, Mufasa and Scar.

Dazzling Disney themed program touched our hearts mesmerizing us with the performances of the talented students of our school. The took a ride from Cinderella to Frozen Princess with the little performers.

Mr Ashoke Viswanathan, the eminent theatre personality, brought Merchant of Venice live to the students and parents of Classes IX & X in his theatrical presentation of the play.

The students of Class IV & V participated enthusiastically in ‘Pop with the Prop’ – Public Speaking Competition 2022 held in ‘Gasper Hall’ of the school. Winners were awarded Trophies, Books and Certificates and the participants received certificates.

The three day long programme ‘Miles of Smiles’ was well spent with the parents and little ones of the Pre Primary. It was an engaging program where they involved themselves with the Haami 2 dance, ramp walk, lucky draw and interaction with our Principal and the team. The Annual Career Fair was one of its kind with Universities, Guest Speakers, special performances in school premises as a part of Future Ready program for senior school students.

14th November witnessed a day long celebration for all students at school after a gap of two years of virtual celebrations!

The two day Utsav (for Nursery to Class XII) in school witnessed a plethora of activities, competitions, cultural programs, alumni performances with fun, festivities, food and book stalls put up for students and parents.

Scouts and Guides & the Cubs and Bulbul group celebrated the day in a special assembly. Mr Trinanjan Adhikary, (Rover) International Peace Day and Membership Growth Coordinator, Barrackpore Local Association, North 24 Parganas joined as a Special Guest for the celebration. Together, they also planted saplings to exhibit peace through the act of plantation.

Special Assembly on Hindi Diwas (14th September 2022) held for Classes X and XII. Display of creative presentations in the form of charts, sketches, paintings created the perfect ambience to celebrate culture and language.

Online Grandparents’ Day celebration by Middle & Senior school children, was an emotional journey as they joined with their dear grandparents celebrating the bond of love.

Students of the Pre-Primary and Primary section celebrated the day with speeches and interesing performances in the Special Assembly.

Students of Pre-Primary & Primary celebrated Feast Day and National Sports Day with great enthusiasm in interesting sports costumes in the special assembly.  They also enjoy the friendly football match held in school premises.

Intraschool Badminton competition for Boys of Classes IX to XII was organised in the school premises to commemorate the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Dhyan Chand. Participants and winners were awarded medals and certificates by Principal ma’am.

The Eucharistic celebration in the School Chapel held on Feast Day, with Fr. Peter Lingdamo as the main celebrant, was attended by Heads and teachers. Students and parents joined the live streaming on our YouTube channel.

The History Department conducted an Educational Trip to the Indian Museum for students of classes XI & XII. Children enjoyed their visit to different galleries specially the Archaeological gallery, Human Evolution, Egyptian Civilization, Art & Craft of different ages etc. The visit was a welcome learning experience for the students.

76th Independence Day celebration was a grand and colourful event with Flag hoisting in both Manirampur and Barrackpore buildings. The main campus reverberated with exquisite performances dipped in patriotism and freedom by students across sections. The battle of the knights, queen, rooks & pawns began with the Inter House Chess Prelims of the CheckMate Challenge 2022 from 16th July. The much-awaited Grand Finale of the Inter House Chess Competition was held in school premises on 20th July with 16 enthusiastic finalists competing against each other locked in tough fights.

Day 1 – The much coveted event was held on Friday, 17th June 2022 at Rabindra Bhawan to recognize the academic achievements of the deserving students of classes I – XII and officially approve and handover responsibilities to the most prestigious posts of the Student Council of the school.

Our students participate in the 75-days-long Yoga Day Celebration organized by the Cantonment Board, Barrackpore. They perform group Yoga, Rhythmic Yoga and win prizes for participation in Drawing competition.
