On August 28th, 2023, the school joyously celebrated the Feast of St. Augustine of Hippo. The highlight of the day was a solemn Holy Eucharistic Celebration that brought together the entire school staff.
St. Augustine’s Day School Barrackpore hosted a grand spectacle of young football talent with the “Augusto Foot Fest 2023” Junior Inter School Football Knockout Tournament. The Chief Guest was Steven Leon J Herbots, the Head Coach of United SC.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ’s Resurrection on Easter Sunday, through which we attain redemption.
21st February is observed as “International Mother Language day”. Every year this day is celebrated to express our love for our mother tongue.This year also our children of Pre-primary section celebrated the day through a cultural program.

The day long award giving ceremonies in three slots witnessed around 400 students receiving certificates and mementos for their outstanding performances in co-scholastic activities.

Students were given new session kits by Principal Ma’am and Headmistress for Primary and Senior sections. The program ended with a quiz contest.
Students were given Report Cards. We also had the Annual Prize Distribution where children were awarded trophies for securing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions for their excellent performance in academics (for the session 2022-23) concerning the two disciplines basic English and Mathematics.
Interhouse Football Competition for Class 9 to 12 Boys was an exciting match on the Metal and Steel Factory ground, Ichapore. Students enjoyed the energy on the field as the four houses competed to be the best!
Pre Christmas celebration was a joyous three day long event in school.. Primary school students sang, danced and presented the birth of Jesus Christ in the form of nativity. Middle and Senior students had reading from the Bible followed by choir singing, drama and dance performances.
The talented students of Classes I, II and III brought Razzmatazz to the audience . They enthusiastically and joyfully took us back to our childhood days where we revisited Simba, Mufasa and Scar.
Dazzling Disney themed program touched our hearts mesmerizing us with the performances of the talented students of our school. The took a ride from Cinderella to Frozen Princess with the little performers.
Mr Ashoke Viswanathan, the eminent theatre personality, brought Merchant of Venice live to the students and parents of Classes IX & X in his theatrical presentation of the play.
The Annual Career Fair was one of its kind with Universities, Guest Speakers, special performances in school premises as a part of Future Ready program for senior school students.

The Eucharistic celebration in the School Chapel held on Feast Day, with Fr. Peter Lingdamo as the main celebrant, was attended by Heads and teachers. Students and parents joined the live streaming on our YouTube channel.
76th Independence Day celebration was a grand and colourful event with Flag hoisting in both Manirampur and Barrackpore buildings.
The main campus reverberated with exquisite performances dipped in patriotism and freedom by students across sections.
The Scouts & Guides team welcomed the Chief Guest, Mr Debaditya Chakraborty, retired IAS officer, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Principal Ma’am, Mrs J Biswas & President Ma’am Mrs J G Chowdhury, with a Guard of Honour. The Flag hoisting was done by Principal Ma’am, and Students, Staff and Guests joined in the singing of the National Anthem in unison.
To commemorate the International Youth Day, Magma Green, The Nature Club of the School had organised a panel discussion on the topic “Waste it once pay for it twice” which revolved around the three magnificoes Reduce- Re-use – Recycle.
A fruitful event which etched this mantra of three R’s in the heart and mind of today’s youth, our students, who promised to follow this and abide with this with positive rethinking process.
89 students of ICSE 2022 and 58 students from ISC 2022 were felicitated for their outstanding academic achievement with a trophy and certificate. The National & State Rank holders received scholarships for excellent performances.
The Junior Prefect Investiture Ceremony for the session 2022-23, was held in school to officially invest responsibilities to eight students from class VIII who are disciplined, academically sound and also have proven track records in various co- curricular activities.Mr. Kaushik Chatterjee, Assistant State Commissioner (Scouts) of Bharat Scouts & Guides graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Students of classes IV & V celebrated Pet day in both online & offline mode. They made interesting art work with colourful paper mosaics and spoke about their favourite pets in their classes. The online celebration witnessed our Guests, Dr Subhasis Roy, Mr Siddhartha Sudarshan and Dr Krishanu Ghosh, eminent vets and professors discussing the benefits of having pets and their care.
The battle of the knights, queen, rooks & pawns began with the Inter House Chess Prelims of the CheckMate Challenge 2022 from 16th July. The much-awaited Grand Finale of the Inter House Chess Competition was held in school premises on 20th July with 16 enthusiastic finalists competing against each other locked in tough fights.
Day 1 – The much coveted event was held on Friday, 17th June 2022 at Rabindra Bhawan to recognize the academic achievements of the deserving students of classes I – XII and officially approve and handover responsibilities to the most prestigious posts of the Student Council of the school.
Students of Classes IV & V engage in a cultural exchange program on local delicacies and food habits with Zhongxiao Elementary School, Keelung, Taiwan and interact digitally across borders.

Our students participate in the 75-days-long Yoga Day Celebration organized by the Cantonment Board, Barrackpore. They perform group Yoga, Rhythmic Yoga and win prizes for participation in Drawing competition.
Students, teachers and evening school girls celebrated the 161st Birth Anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore on 9th May with an array of beautiful cultural performances- both online and in campus.
The birth anniversary of Rector and Founder, Late C R Gasper Sir was celebrated with a Eucharistic Mass in the School Chapel, followed by a fun-filled and exquisite Cultural Program by the teachers. The school staff paid homage and tribute to Sir promising to take St Augustine’s Day School Barrackpore marching ahead!!
The three-day Interschool Cricket Tournament for Boys witnessed some exquisite matches and display of sportsmanship on the Panihati Sporting Club Ground. With the celebrated cricketer, Sreevats Goswami in the Opening Ceremony and Arnab Nandi as the guest for the Closing and Prize distribution, the ACL welcomed back the students to school for session 2022-23!
Principal, Ms. J Biswas launched the updated and improved version of the school app for parents and students of the school in a program held in the school premises and streamed live on YouTube for all the Augustinian families. The new features of the app were presented and the audience navigated through the app for better understanding.
The new school Badminton Court was launched for students with an Intra School Badminton Competition for Girls on 25th March 2022. President, Ms Janet Gasper Chowdhury cut the ribbon and encouraged students to participate more in Sporting activities in school. The spectators enjoyed the thrilling matches.
The grand opening of the new session for ABC, for classes Nursery to VIII, witnessed some exquisite performances of the students across sections. Mr. Saheb Chattopadhyay, the Chief Guest of the ceremony, congratulated the school for creating such opportunities for its children. Parents, students and the staff sang and danced with the renowned singer and actor! CEO sir addressed the audience and encouraged students to enjoy their creative talents. An evening worth remembering.
The Annual Reunion of Augustinians was held in the school premises on 12th March, where students from the 80’s batch reunited with the young Augustinians and beloved teachers- a moment to cherish forever!! The daylong event witnessed the felicitation of teachers, exquisite performances of ex-students, lunch, games, music, dance and DJ.
World Scout Day is celebrated every year on 22nd February, the birth anniversary of Robert Baden Powell, the founder of Scouts and Guides.
As a mark of respect to him, the Cubs and Bulbuls of the school celebrated this auspicious day by lightning candles in front of his portrait, saluting him, and making handicrafts with waste materials.
It was small gesture to remember him as the students were introduced to his dedicated work and contribution in forming the Scouts and Guides.
The Online School Concert organized by the primary section of our school was essentially a homage to the famous writer, Narayan Debnath and bore witness to the relentless effort of students guided by their teachers. Apart from being a fun-filled celebration, the main focus of the concert, a play titled ‘The Best is Yet to Come’ drove home a powerful message. In the mould of a comic act interspersed by dance and music recitals the students were made to realize the importance of reading books.

Students of St. Augustine’s Day School, Barrackpore collaborate with Farabi Prep School, Sousse, Tunisia for Cultural Exchange Program, presenting glimpses of their food, dress, art forms, festivals etc on the virtual platform.

The much coveted ABC Award Ceremony for the session 2021-2022 was organised in school campus maintaining all revised COVID safety protocols. Prize winners were accompanied by parents. The evening was vibrant with colourful performances of students in between the prize distribution.

The most challenging session of the year for the evening school students came to an end with the Prize Day Ceremony 2021 held in Manirampur campus. A total of 10 students were awarded for their outstanding performances in Spoken English, Mathematics & Computer in presence of their parents. It was a proud moment for all to have witnessed the event whereby the hard efforts of the underprivileged students were recognized..

Christmas celebration also witnessed the spreading of warmth and love to the needy, this winter season. Foster A Smile Project witnessed around a hundred blankets distributed amongst the ones in need. The Principal, VP, Heads, teachers and Parents distributed blankets happily and felt blessed.
Four days long Christmas Carnival witnessed vibrant performances of enthusiastic students on christmas carols, dances, nativity play to welcome the winter festival in its true spirit.
The school campus was drowned in Christmas festivities as we wished everyone a Merry Christmas & a prosperous New Year.

St. Augustine’s Day School, Barrackpore, Primary Section organised a Public Speaking Competition for Classes II & III on 10th December 2021. Students participated with lots of enthusiasm and vigour. They framed their stories with the help of different props. The event helped students not only to develop their communication skills but also stir up their creative side.
A team of students led by Principal Ma’am & Vice Principal Ma’am visited the Bholagiri Ashram, Barrackpore today, as part of the social service project, “Foster a Smile.” The students won the hearts of the inmates with their songs and poetry, creating an ambience of happiness, love and care. A humble contribution of grocery items like Rice, Pulses, Sugar & Edible oil were handed over to the Ashram.
To break the monotony of daily lessons, tiny tots of Nursery celebrated “Virtual Toy day” on 7th December 2021. They were excited to show their toys to their friends. They also shared a few titbits about their favourite toys and why it was their favourite toy.
The students with their splendid performances in various sports events left the audience spellbound. From improving social skills to teaching self-esteem and personal resilience, playing sports instilled lifelong values in students that reach far past the classroom.

Intra Class HAM competition for little kiddies was a success as they participate with enthusiasm and share their thoughts on creative one-word topics given to them!
The event was full of enthusiastic and brilliant performances from primary section children. The physical events on the virtual platform were worth attention. We thank the Chief Guest of the day, Mr Avik Khan, Official match observer at Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) for encouraging the participants with his presence and address.

The Online Sports 2021 for the classes VI – VIII was virtually organised on Tuesday, 30th November 2021. There were different events for each classes and also for boys and girls. The house scores were declared after the result declaration.
LKG kids enthrall everyone in the Rhymes Competition- ‘Poesy Time with a Rhyme’ organised today on Google meet. Children sing and enact the Animal Song with beautiful props and interesting costumes.
Our school collaborates with Canadian Bilingual School, Kuwait for cultural exchange programs.
